Are you among those who consider themselves to be in a fairly fit physical state? Then you should consider signing up for a Hospital plan instead of a conventional medical aid plan. A Hospital Plan reason being seeing as you are considered to be in a generally fit state you can probably manage day to day medical bills such as a routine dentist appointment or a visit to a general practitioner, the hospital plan will take care of all in hospital bills should you be admitted for more than forty eight hours due to either an accident such as :-
? Motor vehicle accident
? Shootout
? Armed robbery
? Fall down the stairs and break limbs
? And various others
A hospital cover will pay a cash dividend in to your personal bank account for every day you spend in hospital, which you can use to either assist with hospital bills or however else you would wish to, it would be entirely up to you. If you are seriously considering signing up for a hospital plan all you would require is :-
- Registered identification document
- Be employed for more than 3 to 6 months
- Have a bank account in your name
- Salary advise slip
and you will be on your way to becoming medically secured. Hospital Plans also offer excellent benefits such as a cash back plan, where you qualify for a return on your premiums and an additional percentage of the premium paid back to you after successfully completing anything between 3 to 6 years premium payments, that would depend on the company you sign up with. Other benefits include accidental disability payout, which clients would be eligible for should they be left disable due to an accident that was caused via public transport or whilst using public transport, the individual will be paid out a lump sum as well as an additional percentage. Should the insured individual be involved in an accident the hospital plan will then also deposit a lump sum in to the bank account of the client, helping take care of any hospital bills incurred.
A comprehensive hospital plan will also pay for maternity bills, some offer you three days per annum, others may offer more or less, yet again it would entirely depend on the company you choose to sign up with. When researching hospital plans it is also good to find out if they cover preexisting conditions, such as diabetes or hypertension. Most Hospital plans do, whilst others provide coverage after receiving premium payments for at least a year. A lot of Hospital Plans opt to not provide coverage for HIV as a preexisting condition, but might offer coverage should you contract the disease after registering for a hospital plan.
Be sure to read the terms, conditions and any other fine print that may present itself prior to tying yourself down to any contract, make certain it will be readily available to cater for your needs when it is expected to.
